Repairs to your home

After talks with our tenants we have redesigned our approach to providing a repairs service.

Our HomeFix service is now visiting every home, carrying out a full inspection and completing all small repairs. They also service the new investment in kitchens, bathrooms and double glazing. The dream of a property where you do not have to ask for a repair and wait for the fix is not far away at Carrick.

We take a planned approach to future repairs and set the priorities with our tenants after looking at the funding available and the repairs identified through the stock condition survey. This is all set out in a detailed plan called the HRA Business Plan.

Back in 1997 a house in Falmouth featured in a video about the Beacon Community Regeneration Partnership. (See link for the work of the Beacon partnership). This house was of single block construction, was damp, had a coal fire, it was expensive to heat and it still had the original 1930's kitchen and bathroom. This property has now been externally insulated, has full controllable gas central heating, has been double glazed and had both a new bathroom and kitchen. The quality of life for all the people in this house hasimproved, the children are healthier and doing better at school, the family spend less on heating the house and have more disposable income. They are now proud of their home, their neighbourhood and their landlord. This is the difference a well funded modernisation and repairs service can make.

We aim to provide the best repairs service in the country and we have a comprehensive repairs policy that offers very high standards of repairs and services to tenants.
This is our new annual property service, just like a car or gas boiler your house and all the fitting inside work better if they are checked and serviced annually.
